Introducing.... Bradley and Zoé's

A set of romantic wedding stationery with a twist. How Zoé and Brad included their dog, Buzz, and other illustrations to help personalise it and make it 'theirs'.

Let's find out a bit more about these two, their wedding day, and the inspiration for their stationery.

Hi Zoé, tell me about you and Brad, how you met, and your engagement.

We met through a mutual friend who introduced us and thought we’d be great together! Thanks, Daisy! We were together for 2 years before Brad proposed, which happened whilst we were on holiday in Mallorca. He kept saying we should go back to the room, but I was enjoying being outside, and being very stubborn, I didn’t want to! Finally, I gave in and back in the room on the bed was a little card. When I walked out to the balcony he was on one knee!

Aww, Brad! What a romantic!

Tell me about your wedding. What style of wedding did you did you have?

Our ceremony was held at St George’s Catholic Church, in Taunton. I grew up going there, so it felt natural to get married there, too. Our reception was at Crowcombe Court. We thought the venue was absolutely stunning, and we instantly fell in love with it; the scenery and just everything!

It is a beautiful place to have a reception; I'm not surprised you instantly fell in love with it.

What inspired you to have the stationery that you did?

We chose the stationary because we liked how you could incorporate our dog, Buzz, into everything. As he is an excitable lab our wedding wasn’t the best place for him, so by having him included on the stationary just made sense!

I love including pets in the stationery I make for couples, and Buzz was super fun to add with his head popping his head into the designs! What about the back of your invites, with all the little illustrations?

We liked the idea that we could add in things that represented both of us, and would make our invitation fun.

We've decided to have an illustration relating to Disney because we both are big Disney fans, and there is a PlayStation controller, basketball and movies for Brad, as these are all his hobbies. He played basketball growing up, loves gaming and movies (has even been an extra in Dunkirk!). Then, it was musical theatre for me as I’ve grown up performing and training in musical theatre, and love everything about it! We also both love musicals; and obviously our lovely pooch, Buzz!

Do you have any tips or tricks you can share with other couples leading up to their wedding day?

My tip is to not be afraid to try a bit of DIY. I managed to get a lot of second-hand items and refurb them, and they looked great on the day! Also, it’s your day don’t be influenced by others. It’s what you and your fiancé want!

Thanks so much, Zoè! Xx

Zoé and Brad ordered a trifold wedding invitation, which is an invite with three panels for info to be put onto. Their design was digitally illustrated and had flowers reflecting those they were planning on having on the day. They sent me a photograph of Buzz, their lab, for me to illustrate from, which we incorporated throughout. I also made them a matching seating plan and an order of service for the wedding ceremony, as well. They wanted a design that was classic in its style but with fun little extras included, that helped make their day appear a little less formal and more relaxed (AKA pop your nice frocks on, but have a giggle and enjoy the day).
